| | Six Flags was so much fun!! Markita is going to post the pictures online later, so I can steal them and put them up on my sites (myspace, photobucket, xanga, etc.). It'll be great.
Now, about the trip.
Driving four/five hours wasn't bad. Even leaving at 4:30AM wasn't bad. I was a bit tired, but so excited to get on our way to the park. It was the drive to the hotel that had me irritated. Good Lord, I cannot stand California's highways. It's annoying. Every time I get directions from Mapquest, I seem to get lost. I don't know which to blame:
a) California's travel options
b) Mapquest
c) My sense of direction
Besides the drive, the park was really deserted. I mean, I know they went bankrupt, but I did not expect the crowd for Six Flags to be that small. It was a holiday weekend, for goodness sakes! The longest time we had to wait was about 30 - 40 minutes for a water ride midday. Yeah, it was that deserted. xD
Not complaining though, Markita and I wiped out 1/4 of the park's rides in about an hour. A nice good chunk of the map completed. Markita joked that I needed a black marker (I handled the map) to X-out the rides we had just faced. :P
Poor dear, I kept pulling her around the park. She was like a little, ol' lady, saying things like, "You're young," (she's only a year older) and, "I don't know how Adrian keeps up with you." Gave her a couple headaches too, but I was ruthless, hardly letting her stop for refreshments. I didn't want her to get sick though, so we did stop for pizza and water before lunch.
Lunch was gross though. I keep comparing the food from Six Flags to the food from Disneyland. Disneyland has the quality. You might have to pay an arm and a leg, but you get good service and yummy food. Six Flags, on the other hand, is the completely opposite. You probably paid more for the crappy food and bad service. I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries and a frozen lemonade (I was in the mood for a burger). The thin-pattied-poor-excuse-for-a-burger was served only with lettuce and cheese. The fries were slightly hard and burnt. The lemonade was good though. Plus, my servers were going on talking amongst themselves while taking orders. It was rude. I want my Disneyland service. T_T
Aside from the complaints, let's talk about the fun rides! :D
Goliath: That long-ass drop puts so much pressure in your tummy, one can only scream for so long. The length of my scream could not even last the entire drop! It was so much pressure. The 28-story drop is probably the scariest part of the ride.
Scream: Fun ride. Love the weird twists. It was fun, but not really memorable. Dangling feet. :3
Colossus: Uhh, hate the bumpy, wooden ride. Wooden coasters are fun, but they should not be jerky, have sudden stops, and feel like the track will crack any minute. Markita even saw detached wooden boards on the ground. O_O
Terminator: Now, that was a good wooden coaster. It was so much fun! Smooth ride for the most part. While you were walking to the ride, there were TV screens, playing scenes, making the ride seem like an action part of some movie. Very cool. A little dramatic and corny, but cool nonetheless. Very fun! :D
Superman: This one had both Markita and I shaking. I was so nervous boarding the car. It's so loud, intimating, and tall. Markita was ready to bolt, but I blocked her exit. xD We were front row!! That 15 second ride will remain in my memory. The hydroloic start up a straight ramp, hundreds of feet in the air! It was fun. Then, all the way backwards! Superman, the metal statue at the top, blinded us! "You're too bright, Superman!" One of my favorites. <3 I remember last time I was at Six Flags with the family, we attempted to go on it, but it was closed. I finally got my chance. :)
The Riddler: One of my favorite rides. I love all the loops. It would make sense for the ride to have loops. Look at the question mark, made of curves. In fact, it's almost a loop. && I actually stood this time. This is a standing coaster. Last time when I went on with my mom, she stood, but I just sat. This time, I was up for the challenge. Markita and I rode it twice. What fun! <3
Deja Vu: Another one of my favorites. This ride goes frontwards through a odd corkscrew turn, a loop, up a needle while your feet are dangling, and then, backwards through the ride again! Hence its name. It was such a fun ride. <3
Now to the extreme ones -
Tatsu: The scariest ride I have ever been on in my life. No doubt. No exaggeration. Seriously. Fo rizzles. So, let's just say you're sitting in your seat. Let's move the seat and have you facing the ground with a restraint over your shoulders, and your ankles are held. It's as if you're in a flying position. Now, let's lift you hundreds of feet in the air, through a crazy, looping, swirly track, staring at the ground. I hated it. I'm slightly afraid of heights. I felt like I would fall at any minute. Hated it. Markita thought it wasn't that bad... Ugh. D<
X2: Some girl said this ride wasn't that extreme. Hello! - your seat rotates, fire spews out of the coaster! How is that not extreme? Opposite of Tatsu, instead of facing the ground, you start off facing the sky, but once the ride begins, the seat rotates and flings you around a looping track. One of the most extreme rides of the park! It was crazy. Markita's favorite. This one scared the living daylights out of me, but I enjoyed it. :)
We had a fun time! The only thing was that the water rides we had been on soaked into our shoes and stayed there for hours without drying. Our feet was wrinkly, soft, and sore after the day. Blisters and stuffz. So, we left the park about 30 minutes before they closed, satisfied with the day's work, and reward ourselves with a couple of funnelcakes. Good stuff. <3
We arrived at the hotel, I ate some food that we bought at the store, and after a couple showers, we fell asleep with Mr. Deeds playing on the hotel's TV. The next day, we woke up and drove back to Las Vegas. :)
What a wonderful summer so far.
